Due to the increased measures the government is putting in place to limit the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19), we’re temporarily pausing recruitment for the next few weeks.
DWP is currently focused on getting money to support citizens and safeguarding vulnerable people. So we need to recruit the right people to support that work.
All of the vacancies currently listed on our site will remain open for application until their closing dates. We’re working out next steps for any recruitment that’s already in progress, but if you have a start date with us, we’ll honour it.
All face-to-face interviews have been suspended for the next two weeks, and longer-term we’ll use alternative options such as telephone and video interviews.
This is only temporary. We’ll be expanding our digital services to accommodate the increased demands on our services as a result of the pandemic. So recruitment into our digital roles will be more important than ever.
For more information about how we’re adapting recruitment to support DWP service delivery, you can subscribe to our DWP Digital newsletter. We’ll occasionally send you relevant news and job alerts.

I’ve seen a vacancy on the DWP careers website, can I still apply?
Yes. We still have a small number of vacancies currently being advertised that will remain open for application until their closing dates. However, DWP have taken a decision to temporarily pause progress on processing digital recruitment applications for the next four weeks.
What is happening with recruitment interviews?
We are assessing a number of different options regarding next steps for vacancies already in progress. All face-to-face interviewing has been suspended for the next two weeks and we are planning to use alternative options for example using telephone and video going forward.
I’ve been successful in my application, how am I affected?
Where start dates have already been agreed we will honour these and follow the coronavirus guidance in the same way as we would for existing colleagues.
Where we have offered a job but we have not yet agreed a start date, due to the unprecedented current situation causing a shift in focus of the organisation, we will not be able to agree a start date within the next four weeks. This is a temporary postponement, and we still very much look forward to you joining the team.
