You and your role.

This is not a standard Agile Delivery role. It is a new breed with a strategic and analytical approach.
Our Agile Product Lead will be part of a team of 30 +.We are looking for a strategic leader to transform existing People Services products for over 86,000 colleagues whilst delivering vital services and real value to UK Citizens to people that need help during the difficult times of their lives.
This role sits in the heart of DWP People Services and it involves many strands including employee relations, L&D, internal systems suppliers and contract management and our back office functions. The primary objectives are to establish and enhance the Product Management function within the existing team and uniformity of “Software as a Service” and best practice across all of these functions using Agile delivery methodology in a key user centered design and approach.
Ideally, you’ll have public sector experience in HR and finance and product management and back office contract management and will be versed in creating building and successfully implementing a roadmap.
You’ll be familiar with workforce planning and have solid experience in dealing with and influencing key stakeholders in introducing change and transformation and ultimately embedding new ways of working, smoothly, efficiently and painlessly.
This is a fantastic opportunity to make a generational change of how colleagues work and interact by creating user friendly products by truly working digitally .It is a huge challenge but equally fulfilling as this process improvement within back office functions will bring this function into the 21st century and touch the lives of many.

You must demonstrate that..

• You can lead a team to effectively deliver change in a complex environment with multiple stakeholders
• You have experience of managing products across departmental or functional boundaries in order to effectively communicate your vision and gain stakeholder buy in
• You can provide leadership, advising and developing product strategy and its roadmap, by making effective decisions using a range of techniques
• You can manage and mentor multi-disciplinary product teams in order to deliver highly quality products and services
• You have supported the professional development of product managers in your area and look outwards of your own area, engaging and networking across the wider Product management profession and beyond
