You and your role

We write code to create applications and infrastructure, with automated and manual testing being used to make sure it works, is high quality and bug free. We use cutting-edge design, data and a full range of innovative technologies to try out new ideas, experiment, iterate and innovate at pace.

What are we looking for?
- Working knowledge of Software Engineering best practices and an awareness of the Software Engineering profession and its principles.
- Experience of SQL and no-SQL database applications such as Postgres, MySQL, and MongoDB.
- An awareness of the importance of adopting a modern standards approach and the importance of development process efficiency.
- Awareness of the process of integrating systems and testing interfaces between systems.
- An ability to understand user stories and convert business requirements into technical solutions.

Where will you work?
BPDTS Ltd provides dedicated services to the Department for Work and Pensions. Our digital, data and technology specialists work closely with experts in DWP Digital’s community to make digital services quicker, simpler and more efficient for the millions of people that use them.
You’ll join us in one of our easy-to-reach digital hub in either Manchester or Sheffield (your choice). Each of our nationwide hubs has been designed for and by members of our digital community. We provide the latest tech and tooling and foster a collaborative culture to help our agile, multi-disciplinary teams think big and try new things.
In Manchester we’re right on St Peter’s Square so dead handy for trams and trains, and we have great views over the library and town hall. It’s our newest (and fanciest) digital hub and we have some of our most leading edge teams working here. There are loads of great places to get your lunch, or for an after work social, nearby too.
Sheffield is one of our best established hubs with big-hitting teams working on some amazing, high profile projects.
