Job description

DWP. Digital with Purpose.

We’re hiring a Briefing Manager for an exciting content creation and management role.

DWP Digital is transforming DWP’s services by unlocking the potential of leading edge technologies and ways of working. We want to make it quicker, easier and less costly for DWP’s 20 million customers to get the support they need.

The Digital Engagement team works at the heart of DWP Digital. We’re helping specialist communities of digital, data and technology experts to grow and engage.

We help DWP colleagues understand how digital is changing the way we work, and we’re building the profile and reputation of DWP Digital externally.

DWP is a growing organisation and our part in DWP’s COVID-19 response means our profile has never higher. There has never been more interest in what DWP Digital is doing.

So we’re looking for someone talented, energetic and politically astute, with exceptional content writing and organisational skills to create the high quality, pitch-perfect messaging and copy we need to meet this growing demand.

Duties. Work. Projects.

It’s your job to make sure DWP Digital communicates with clarity, impact and consistency across a wide range of official channels and products.

You’ll collate and produce quality content to serve corporate publications, Parliamentary briefings (including Parliamentary Questions and Select Committee briefings), Freedom of Information requests and internal briefings, presentations and more.

You’ll be comfortable building strong relationships across a complex organisation, so you understand our strategies, priorities and achievements. And you’ll use the resulting information to develop and maintain a repository of up-to-date messages and narratives.

You’ll have the professional confidence and credibility to work with colleagues at the highest level, understanding their needs and working at pace to co-create and get sign off for consistently high quality content.

This is serious stuff, with an audience including politicians and journalists, but you’ll be able to pull together the right content – watertight and well-positioned – for the right people.

You’ll also become a key member of our supportive, friendly Digital Engagement team, where you’ll help us find ways to make our multi-site community work even better together.

Durability. Wordcraft. People:

Details. Wages. Perks.

You’ll join us in our one of brilliant Digital hubs in your choice of Blackpool, Leeds, Sheffield, Manchester or London: https://careers.dwp.gov.uk/our-locations/

In return for your skills we offer competitive salary up to £45,018 (London) / £40,666 (non-London), a brilliant civil service pension with employer contributions worth over 27%, and a generous leave package.

We also have a broad benefits package built around your work-life balance which includes:
