You and your role
This is a great opportunity to join a thriving data practice in DWP. Data is at the heart of every digital service in DWP; we aim to use cutting-edge data science, data engineering, data management and data analysis to make services better for the millions of people using them, including some of the most vulnerable in our society.
Our data community is all about collaboration. You’ll work alongside data professionals of all kinds, and with tech experts from a range of backgrounds including engineers and architects. As a team we will make a difference.
As a Data Operations Developer you will identify and resolve issues and incidents affecting delivery of data services. You will deliver complicated automated components which from part of Data production.
You will support Data Management and Data Engineering teams by writing code to enable automation of clerical data products. You’ll also provide coaching and mentoring to Data Manager colleagues and peers.
What are we looking for?
• You are able to quickly comprehend and develop technical data solutions
• You have experience of data deployment in cloud based applications
• You have experience of modifying and maintaining systems and code developed by ETL Developers
• You have experience of monitoring and event management, tooling and automation services, managing problem resolution and major incidents.
• You know about data pipeline architecture tools e.g. Informatica, Hive, Spark, SQL, noSQL, Python, R
