You’ll be keen to take on the challenge of working for the UK’s largest government department in a role with a remit to protect over £170 billion worth of payments including payments to some of the most vulnerable members of society.
As our Head of Vulnerability Assessment you’ll join our Technical Vulnerability Assessment Team (TVAT), part of the Cyber Resilience Centre (CRC). You will be part of a dynamic, innovative and service-oriented team that delivers intelligence-led cyber security to defend the DWP estate, service users and customers
You and your role
The Head of Vulnerability Assessment (HoVA) will lead and provide strategic direction. They will be responsible for developing a strategic plan and implementing that plan within teams, as well as leading and managing staff. They will also be expected to develop policies, standards and processes to support the work of the Technical Vulnerability Assessment Team.
The HoVA will also be tasked with reviewing products and tools used by the Technical Vulnerability Assessment Team to ensure that they are fit for purpose and that the Department is continuing to invest in those areas that provide maximum return on investment.
You’ll take lead in developing management information and KPIs to provide an accurate view of the capability of our teams and the impact they are having on the security posture of the organisation.
What are we looking for?
- Significant experience of leading and managing technical and generalist teams within the public or private sector, including setting strategies and implementing them.
- Significant experience of managing the implementation and running of vulnerability management programmes of work in the public or private sector
- Experience of managing continuous vulnerability management tools and commissioning intelligence-led penetration tests.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills.
- Excellent communication skills.
It’s also great if you have…
- Recognised information security qualifications, such as GSEC, CISSP, CISM, MSc in Information Security.
