We’re looking for a talented IT Support Manager to join our growing community of experts. You and your role

In this role you will manage a team within your geographic area providing front line IT support to DWP staff. You will manage the team and their day to day duties while having overall responsibility for staff development.

This is a valuable and valued job here in DWP. You and your team keep us online and able to do our jobs, able to provide critical services to the people that need them most.

We are often seen as the first point of contact for our people and first impressions count. Using your people and communication skills to simplify technical subjects to a non-technical audience is key to success. You will build and manage a team of IT technicians with the skills and ability to solve problems, communicate technical messages and educate our end users.

We’re on a transformation journey so we have users at all levels of capability. You’ll need to be able to understand (and support your team to understand) a user’s problem from their description, and you’ll need to able to explain the fix to them in language they understand.

We’ll ensure lots of variety in your work and give you the tools and training you need to take on interesting stuff you may not have done before. This role is evolving all the time. As we roll out new solutions across our teams you’ll have great opportunities to develop and become an expert with different tech, tooling and systems.

And there is a real great progression pathway within End User Computing, whether that be a move into Regional Manager, Senior EUC Manager or Service Transition Manager, or something else. And we’ll support you all the way.
