You’ll receive on the job coaching, mentoring and support, working closely with and learning from our other experienced Engineers. You’ll also have access to loads of training and development, internal and external, with invites to conferences, meet-ups, events and more.
If you’re talented, ambitious and you want to be a part of a learning, buzzing Engineering community – and you want to use your skills to deliver stuff that really matters into the hands of millions of people that really need it – then you’ll be right at home here.
You and your role
As an Associate Test Engineer based in the Sheffield Digital Hub you will have an opportunity to work on some really exciting Identity Services projects. New legislation, further technological advances, and higher citizen expectations mean that we now find ourselves at another milestone in the evolution of digital identity and the chance to work in this highly technical and challenging service area should not be missed.
Here you will be responsible for the operational stability of the products you test, and be in a position to affect change in the on-going robustness, resilience and stability of those products.
You know when and how to test, and you’re comfortable with a risk-based approach. And you’ll fit in with our friendly, driven Test Engineering team and the wider community here in Sheffield.
What are we looking for?
- You have the ability to understand user stories and convert business requirements into test scripts, and to raise and manage defects.
- You’re aware of the Test Engineering profession and its principles.
- You understand the importance of adopting a modern standards approach.
- You’re aware of the process of integrating systems and testing interfaces between systems.
- You are qualified in ISEB/ISTQB Foundation level.
Where will you work?
BPDTS Ltd provides dedicated services to the Department for Work and Pensions. Our digital, data and technology specialists work closely with experts in DWP Digital’s community to make digital services quicker, simpler and more efficient for the millions of people that use them.
You’ll join us in our easy-to-reach digital hubs in Sheffield, where some of our best teams are working together on a brilliant Identity Services project.
We foster a collaborative culture to help our agile, multidisciplinary teams think big and try new things. We’re using latest tech and tooling and working at the cutting edge of authentication and verification.
You will work alongside people who care passionately about public service, making a difference and delivering for our customers. We care about our people, we work flexibly and we support each other.
We are an equal opportunity employer and we welcome applications regardless of age, disability, gender, race or sexuality.
What is our offer?
- We’ll reward you with a very competitive salary of up to £34,063
- You will be eligible for a pension with employer contributions of up to 10%
- We can offer you a performance-related annual bonus of up to 10%
- We’ll help you balance your life and work
- We’ll give you a generous leave allowance, with the option to buy and sell extra days
We also offer much more as part of a flexible benefits package – including a cycle to work scheme and lots of family friendly perks – which can be tailored to your lifestyle.
