Job description

We require a Lead Content Designer to join DWP Digital at an exciting, challenging time in our digital transformation. We have a clear vision – to design the department’s services around the people who need them – and we’re looking for talented people to help us achieve it.

Working in our Health Digital Team you will be using your experience of large-scale and complex content projects, you’ll assure the quality of content design across teams and its alignment to departmental goals. Using research, data and other evidence, you’ll translate user needs into content strategy across end-to-end services (including non-digital parts).

You’ll strongly advocate for best practice in content design, leading on cross-government content projects and keeping up to date with industry changes.

Helping to shape content career paths and may manage Senior Content Designers. You’ll work with senior stakeholders to help to build teams, solve problems and develop strategy. You’ll be a champion for designing around user needs, making sure people’s interactions with government are as simple and quick as possible.

There are some challenges that we hope you’re ready to tackle – especially around persuading senior stakeholders of the value of user-centred content design. It’s important and rewarding work.
