We are looking for Linux Server Support Engineer to work with us on one of the biggest transformation programmes in Europe, providing services that have far-reaching and pivotal roles in citizens’ lives.

You and your role

As a Linux Server Support Engineer you will:

• Act as 2nd/3rd line support for incidents, problems and changes to solutions and services.
• Provide specialist technical support and assistance to projects ensuring delivery of requisite non-functional requirements and to continual service improvement.

• Prepare and support IT Operations solutions and services, physical or virtual, according to industry and organisational best practices standards, service requirements and KPIs.

• Provide technical support and assistance to projects.

• Coach and mentor junior team members and assist in the delivery of provision of first class service.

What skills and experience are we looking for?

• You can anage and maintain hardware and software such as Red Hat Linux 5 > 7.8, Red Hat Identity Manager (IdM), OEL, X86 HP BL660c Blades, HP7000
• Experience with virtualisation technologies such as Oracle Virtual Machine (OVM), VMware, Hyper-V, and XenServer
• Experience with tools such as Ansible, Gitlab, Bladelogic
• Background in Service Management & Operations (particularly Request Fulfilment, Incident/Problem/Change Management) with experience of Service Transition
• Experience and successful track record of operating hosting services in large scale organisations
• Experience of the main Infrastructure technologies – Compute, network,Storage
