DWP Digital are looking for a Product Manager to look after our high profile, high priority software delivery products and services.
We’re modernising DWP products, services and systems that support millions people in the UK, as part of a once-in-a-generation transformation. We’re using fresh ideas and leading-edge technologies to create innovative digital solutions that will make our services more efficient to run and easier to access for over 20 million users.

As a Product Manager for the UK’s largest government department, and you’ll have real influence over major products that will be used by millions of people.
You’ll look after a portfolio of products which make up our Citizen Information service. We are building new technical services that enable us to use and share citizen data within DWP, and across the public sector, to transform and improve our customer journeys and increase efficiency.
You’ll need expertise and experience in the software delivery lifecycle, technical nous and an ability to deliver at scale.
You’ll join a thriving Product Management community. And you’ll work as part of an Agile multi-disciplinary team.
You’ll use your skills a persuasive and engaging communicator, and your experience of delivering and solving problems on behalf of engineers and architects, to get the job done.
You will manage and influence product strategy fit for our technical frameworks and capability. You’ll also establish strong, supportive and influential relationships with senior stakeholders across the DWP, as an ambassador and for best practice in product management.
What skills and experience will I need?
- You have worked across boundaries in order to effectively communicate a product vision and gain stakeholder buy in.
- You have created and communicated a product roadmap, receiving and acting upon challenge from stakeholders.
- You’ve successfully delivered one or more products meeting a number of successful outcomes.
- You have experience of managing products in a complex environment, effectively prioritising backlog items to maximise value.
- You can make effective decisions based on incomplete information using a range of techniques
You will need to demonstrate all these skills in your application. It is against these essential criteria that our hiring team will assess you.
