Delivering Worthwhile Projects

You’ll join our Working Age Benefits Payment Systems team. We’re currently working on a transition onto a new technical platform. This transition has fundamentally changed the underpinning architecture to a modern platform and technical stack creating brilliant opportunities and implementing agile ways of working.
You’ll need a wide technical understanding and you should have delivered multiple complex large scale projects.

Your depth and breadth experience will help you meet this tough technical challenge. Our newly formed team of 100 people are working on 9 applications needed to run and maintain benefit payments across multiple environments in different hosting platforms including AWS.

You’ll use your expert project management skills, as part of a wider team safeguarding the technical delivery management of environment provisioning from requirements and design through to build, commissioning and operate (including development, test and production).

You will be responsible for ensuring development, pre-production and production platform and applications are built and maintained.

You’ll manage projects dealing with the interaction and automation of infrastructure technologies, processes and Asset Management and control of technical assets using Gitlab and related runner deployment technologies.

Responsibilities:

As Senior Digital Project Manager you’ll lead releases across a number of applications. You will:

• Ensure projects are commercially viable and deliver value, considering impacts and opportunities for existing services and products.
• Manage a varied stakeholder environment, set the pace for delivery and work with internal teams and/or external suppliers to deliver successfully.
• Reflect on their project management practice and adapt it for overall success in an increasingly agile environment.
• Coach or mentor more junior members of the delivery community and play an active part in building the Community of Practice.

What skills and experience are we looking for?

• Experience leading the definition, documentation and successful completion of complex projects.
• Significant experience of communicating complex digital issues in a way that is easy to understand, and building collaborative and trusting relationships
• Experience of seeking out digital initiatives and understanding the extent of the impact they will have across the Organisation.
