Duties. Work. Projects
We are looking for a Senior Infrastructure Engineer, with experience of Infrastructure and Application monitoring to work with our DWP Enterprise Tooling Team.
Our team is responsible for developing, enhancing and maintaining a range of enterprise strength toolsets that manage the Departments IT Systems Management capabilities.
You will be joining a team committed to designing, developing, deploying and supporting core IT services that underpin the DWP systems that millions of people rely on.
These services provide the monitoring necessary to know how healthy the network, server or application is, how the datacentres are laid out, what power they are consuming. You’ll also be making sure that DWP are accurately capturing Software Asset information to allow our central Asset team to ensure we are correctly and efficiently licensed.
You’ve got lots of experience, so you’ll provide an expert voice to belp lift those around you and influence key decisions. And you you will be an escalation point for major incidents within the production environment.
What skills, knowledge and experience will you need to show us?
- You can demonstrate significant experience of design, engineering and consultancy of enterprise tooling, including elements such as event management, service management, discovery, application performance management, business intelligence, network and system configuration, service automation or CMDB
- You have experience of IT Infrastructure services or applications within a large scale organisation in a third line engineering context;
- You have led the troubleshooting and resolution of complex issue across multiple enterprise tooling domains;
- You are an effective communicator at different levels, across support and engineering, business users, architecture and suppliers;
- You have a track record of design, engineer and operate of Enterprise tooling;
- ITIL Expert/Master qualifications or equivalent experience / skills
- Knowledge and/or Experience of software supporting the following technologies is desirable and would be help you hit the ground running.
These are not essential and you’ll have chance to build these skills in your role: - Experience in configuring IT infrastructure monitoring tools
