We are looking for Senior Infrastructure Engineer with skills and experience in storage to work with us on one of the biggest transformation programmes in Europe, providing services that have far-reaching and pivotal roles in citizens’ lives.

You and your role

You will join our Hybrid Cloud Services On-Premise Hosting (HCS OPH) engineering team as Senior Infrastructure Engineer.
This team is responsible for providing consultancy and engineering expertise across a wide range of technologies including x86 infrastructure, virtualisation, storage and backup.
HCS OPH has responsibility for all compute, storage and backup infrastructure used within DWPs new Data Centres, plus owns and maintains the roadmap for these products to ensure supportability and service is maintained at all times.

What are we looking for?

• Significant experience in designing, delivering and supporting Storage infrastructure.
• Significant knowledge of Storage and Backup Technologies particularly in relation to HPE 3PAR, EMC VMAX and POWERMAX.
• Significant experience of Data Storage transfer solutions such as NAS.
• Significant experience of Cisco MDS Storage fabric.

Desirable Skills:

• Experience using scripting such as PowerShell and Python.
• Using Puppet and Ansible tooling in support of automation.
• Experience in designing and supporting enterprise-scale storage environments.
• Knowledge or awareness of backup solutions including Rubrik, EMC Networker, IBM Spectrum Protect and HPE Data Protector.
