We are looking for Senior Infrastructure Engineer, a specialist in Networks and Telecommunications, to work with us on one of the biggest transformation programmes in Europe, providing services that have far-reaching and pivotal roles in citizens’ lives.
In BPDTS Ltd you will be part of an organisation responsible for the delivery of digital platforms and services, real-time analytics and flexible infrastructure, providing secure and resilient services to DWP. You and your role
As a Senior Infrastructure Engineer you will have responsibility for delivering the transformation of our current Networks to a world class zero trust environment ensuring best of breed products and services are deployed and internal capability is enhanced.
You will also have the ongoing responsibility for the full range of products that make up Network Services. Working in collaboration with a range of internal/external partners, stakeholders and customers you will ensure the operational stability, robustness, resilience, availability and quality of DWP Networks.
What essential skills, knowledge and experience are we looking for?
- You have significant experience in enterprise network infrastructure design, engineering and consultancy;
- You have significant experience of the products, services and techniques used to design and build Cisco data-centre solutions;
- You’re experienced in implementing network security products and countermeasure techniques, including Next Gen firewalls, Virtual Private Networks (VPNs), encryption, and authentication techniques;
- You have a thorough understanding of TCP/IP routing protocols, including OSPF and BGP and common network services, including Directory Name Service (DNS), Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP), Network Time Protocol (NTP), and load-balancing techniques;
- You can troubleshoot and resolve complex problems across multiple technology domains
- You can effectively communicate at different levels, across support and engineering, business users, architecture and 3rd party suppliers.
