Job description

Join our regional teams, help us transform public services, let’s make a real difference…

As a Senior Test Engineer at DWP Digital, you’ll execute technical delivery, leadership and management across testing disciplines including automation, functional, performance, security, and accessibility. You’ll help to deliver a once-in-a-generation digital transformation for the UK’s largest government department.

Duties. Work. Projects.

Our agile multi-disciplinary teams are already transforming services for users. Part of our challenge is to digitise and create great customer journeys and user interface for our Fraud Error and Debt function. You will be developing our capability through the use of automation, agile principles, and implementing modern tools and technologies to deliver high quality services. Nonetheless we are currently using and operating on hybrid systems, so we’ll need you to develop and deliver a hybrid test approach; Configuration activity of ERP – Enterprise Resource Planning and COTS – Commercial off the shelve products.

You’ll be working on the Fraud Error and Debt function. We deliver services not projects, being responsible for delivering real value to both citizens and agents through digital services.

We’re building a talented, knowledgeable and flexible team of test experts who can work across front end web, APIs, UI testing, back end integration testing and lots more.

As well as maintaining and modifying tests for other engineers, you’ll provide leadership, and strategic direction for our teams, and identify the right test methodology for the right situation. You’ll drive collaboration and alignment, and be a vocal and visible Test Engineering ambassador in our community, leading discussion of trends, tool and best practice. This role would suit someone with experience in delivering a testing strategy for a Financial product, ERP or COTS product but we are not prejudiced to this. It’s about your mind set and track record.

At DWP Digital we are developing our capability through the use of automation, agile principles, and modern tools and technologies to deliver the best quality services. And we’re committed to helping our testers be at their very best, whether that means formal training, coaching or just working alongside experts from across the Test, Engineering and Digital communities.
