We are looking for Test Engineers to come and work on a number of different Projects in the North East. We are already transforming the services we provide for people approaching retirement age. This has enabled us to change the way customers interact with DWP, empowers people to become self-sufficient and better informed about their pension entitlement. We are looking to apply the same approach and vision across a variety of the benefits and services we provide to DWP customers.
We want people with skills in a range of testing disciplines, including functional, performance, security, and accessibility, and individuals who have good knowledge of Test Automation.
Working as part of the DWP Digital, you will be responsible for delivering real value to both citizens and agents through digital services. Within the Testing Practice, we are looking to develop our capability through the use of automation, agile principles, and implementing modern tools and technologies to deliver high quality services
You and your role:
As a Test Engineer you will be responsible for the testing of applications crucial to our delivery.
This will include defining the appropriate depth and breadth of testing using a risk based approach, and ensuring the stability, robustness and reliability of test suites.
We want you to build and deliver comprehensive, robust and reliable automated test frameworks and automation suites .
You lead in the designing, building and maintaining an effective test infrastructures.
You will your use skills and knowledge to design and build the technical setup and working methods for continuous integration, delivery and deployment..
What are we looking for?
- Someone with a good understanding of Test Engineering best practices.
- Someone with a good awareness of the role that testing tools play in the software development lifecycle.
- Experience of BDD (behaviour driven development) and TDD (test driven development) processes.
- Experience in the development of automated test suites and tools including Java, Selenium v3.14.1+, Cucumber , Jenkins v2.11+ .
- Experience of Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery – Methodology and tools

You’ll join our brilliant team in Blackpool or Newcastle.
