Job description
Are you a User Researcher who wants to contribute to better public services?
Research, Data-set, Go!
One-third anthropologist, one-third sociologist and one-third marketer, you’ll have ample opportunity for research and you’ll excel at using it to get to the bottom of the real questions of what motivates your user base – users of Working Age benefits.
Working with real people, representing the millions that use crucial public products and services. And data, lots of data.
All about you and your role:
Your role can be summed up like this – Discovery, delivery, design, build and automation.
You, and the team around you, will have a role crucial in the discovery and delivery of initiatives, projects, products and services.
You are our eyes and ears in the field. You’ll be responsible for communicating with our users, defining use needs, and championing ideas to your team members and stakeholders in order to deliver on vital life-changing projects.
What skills and experience are we looking for?
- You’re a research guru: You’re adept at qualitative and quantitative research experience; conducting contextual and discovery phase research and hands-on face-to-face user research including research stimulus and paper prototypes
- You simply deliver: meeting tight deadlines, self-regulated work and diary and being able to coach junior colleagues and oversee their work
- You can solve it like Sherlock: Intellectually supple, with the ability to see the bigger picture and translate business issues and needs into relevant, actionable research plans and objectives. You’re able to turn data into valuable insights that inform decisions.
- You’ve got a touch of David Attenborough: Excellent communication skills and ability to present research findings in a creative and compelling way, tailored to the needs of the audience
A bit about where you’ll work:
You’ll join us in our digital hub in Leeds, where BPDTS digital, data and technology specialists work closely with experts in DWP Digital’s community to make digital services quicker, simpler and more efficient for the millions of people that use them.
