Job description

Want to be part of something really big? If you’re creative and curious to learn, want to be empowered to make decisions and challenge the norm, and want to bring BIG ideas to a MASSIVE digital challenge then you’ll love it here. And we’d love to hear from you.

We are looking for talented Developers and Engineers to work with us on one of the biggest transformation programmes in Europe, providing services that have far-reaching and pivotal roles in citizens’ lives. You’ll be joining a team working on some of the most demanding, high profile and exciting new digital services for the UK Government.

In BPDTS Ltd you will be part of an organisation responsible for the delivery of digital platforms and services, real-time analytics and flexible infrastructure, providing secure and resilient services to DWP.

Like us, you’ll be driven by a desire to deliver something with the power to improve people’s lives. You aren’t bothered about titles or hierarchy; what really excites you is problem-solving and the opportunity to deliver innovative technology that carries real value for users. You will draw value from collaboration with others, actively seek input from colleagues and thrive as part of a multidisciplinary team.

What skills knowledge and experience are we looking for?

About our Software Engineers

Our engineers work collaboratively in multi-disciplinary teams to help DWP Digital accelerate their transformation and modernisation of the UK welfare system.

We design, build test and deploy high quality, dependable, performant and accessible digital services using a broad range of technologies to realise the needs of UK citizens.

We use modern software development disciplines coupled with an emphasis on automated test engineering. We deploy these with an immutable infrastructure approach which affords a superior class of quality and service availability in line with modern demand.

Utilising progressive system design and innovative technologies, underpinned by data led decision making also offers us the capability of investigating, experimenting, iterating and inventing at pace.

Where will you work?

BPDTS Ltd provides dedicated services to the Department for Work and Pensions. Our digital, data and technology specialists work closely with experts in DWP Digital’s community to make digital services quicker, simpler and more efficient for the millions of people that use them.

You’ll join us in our brilliant digital hub in Blackpool. It’s a beautiful site we share with wild rabbits, birds, koi carp, dogwalkers and a family of otters. They don’t get to use the great facilities like our gym, coffee shops and restaurant though. Find out more here: https://careers.dwp.gov.uk/our-locations/blackpool/

We are an equal opportunity employer and we welcome applications regardless of age, gender, race or sexuality.

What is our offer?

We also offer much more as part of a flexible benefits package – including a cycle to work scheme and lots of family friendly perks – which can be tailored to your lifestyle.
