This accessibility statement applies to DWP Digital Careers.
This website is run by the Department for Work and Pensions. We want as many people as possible to be able to use this website. For example, that means you should be able to:
- change colours, contrast levels and fonts using browser or device settings
- zoom in up to 400% without the text spilling off the screen
- navigate all of the website using a keyboard or speech recognition software
- listen to all of the website using a screen reader (including the most recent versions of JAWS, NVDA and VoiceOver)
We’ve also made the website text as simple as possible to understand.
AbilityNet has advice on making your device easier to use if you have a disability.
How accessible this website is
We know some parts of this website are not fully accessible:
- Not all links are numbered on certain pages
- Some pages require vertical and horizontal scrolling
- Our newsletter sign up form is not compatible with Dragon and ZoomText
Users of JAWS 18 or 19 and Zoomtext may find that some headings are not read out when using Internet Explorer 11. This is a known issue with Freedom Scientific software. You should be able to resolve this issue by using a different browser.
Reporting accessibility problems with this website
We’re always looking to improve the accessibility of this service. If you find any problems that aren’t listed on this page or think we’re not meeting accessibility requirements, contact us by using the Contact DWP about accessibility form.

Compliance status
The website has been tested against the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 AA standard.
This service is partially compliant with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.2 AA standard, due to the non-compliances listed below.
Non-accessible content
The content listed below is non-accessible for the following reasons.
Link Numbering
When using the ‘click command’ on assistive software, such as Dragon, not all links are numbered. This fails WCAG 2.2 success criterion 4.1.2 (name, role, value).
We plan to resolve this issue in 2025 by including link numbering within the code.
Horizontal scrolling
Most pages require a small amount of horizontal scrolling, as well as vertical scrolling. This fails WCAG 2.2 success criterion 1.4.10 Reflow.
We plan to resolve this issue in 2025 by reducing padding, which will minimize horizontal scrolling.
Error identification and error suggestion
On the DWP Digital Careers Newsletter sign up, if you do not select specialisms and interests, it moves the focus with no error message so when zoomed in, you cannot see why or what the error is and JAWS does not read out any error message on page. This fails WCAG 2.2 success criterion 3.3.1 and 3.3.3 (error identification).
We plan to resolve this issue in 2025.
How we tested this service
The service was last tested on 18 December 2024 and was checked for compliance with WCAG 2.1 AA. The tests were carried out by the Department for Work and Pensions.
