Job description

DWP. Digital with Purpose.

We’re looking for talented Infrastructure Engineers with experience of ServiceNow build, configuration and support to join our growing community of experts and become a key part of one of the biggest and highest-profile digital transformation programmes in the world.

You’ll join our brilliant Technology Services Team. We provide the foundations upon which digital services for DWP are developed and operate.

Our purpose is to deliver secure, effective and cost-efficient digital infrastructure services and to run live IT operations that support DWP business objectives. We do this by putting users and quality of service at the heart of what we do.

Our team is made up of 1,500 colleagues working collaboratively across 10 portfolio-led teams in a fast-moving environment. We deliver an end-to-end suite of digital products and services that support DWP colleagues and citizens in an ever-evolving technology landscape.


Duties. Work. Projects.

We want you to help us deliver new configuration and functionality to DWP’s ServiceNow Production as we design and implement ServiceNow features and applications to meet strategic plans and roadmaps.

Our Engineers deal with and take decisions on day-to-day development of services and solutions, whether that is their own work or the work of others on the team.

We provide specialist technical support to DWP’s agile delivery teams ensuring and act independently to resolve day-to-day issues.

You’ll complete stories and escalate blockers to ensure that development is completed to expected standards and are delivered within timescales.

You’ll build, configure and support ServiceNow features, applications and integrations. You’ll need to be able to build and test simple integrations, and work on more complex integration as part of a wider team.

What skills, knowledge and experience are we looking for?

• Experience of IT Infrastructure services or applications within a large scale organisation in any of build, operate or engineering contexts.
• Experience of delivering solutions within an agile framework.
• Experience of troubleshooting and resolving complex issue across an enterprise tooling infrastructure, individually or as part of a team.
• Experience of effectively communicating at different levels, across support and engineering, business users, architecture and suppliers.
