Job description
DWP. Digital with Purpose.
We’re looking for an ambitious Test Engineer to join our brilliant Digital Channels team. We’re transforming and digitizing the way in which DWP delivers customer facing services that are used by millions of people.
Over the next 3 years the amount of transactions between DWP and our customers is expected to double. Our challenge is to automate and reduce the amount of time needed to handle these transactions so it’s as quick and easy as possible for people to get the support they need.
As our new Associate Test Engineer you will be working with our Next Generation Contact Centre team. You’ll help us revolutionise the way customers interact with DWP, providing quality assurance, using manual and automated test suites to ensure applications are robust and performant.

You will be part of a team delivering new capabilities across an Omni Chanel Platform, enhancing customer journeys and experiences.
You’ll help test our Contact Centre applications, so you’ll need a good understanding of the Genesys Contact Centre platform and how it is deployed within a large multi-site environment
You should be familiar with the Software Development Lifecycle, Test Engineering principles and must have experience of testing within a Genesys and Verint Contact Centre Environment.
Working within an Agile team, you will support the testing of features in sprint through both manual and automated end-to-end testing, documenting issues and managing their resolution.
You will be required to write test plans, create test scripts, and produce test completion reports for use by the Contact Centre Platform team, and project stakeholders.

What skills and experience do you need?
- You contribute to improving delivery and understand the importance of evidence-based design and analysis.
- You can correctly execute test scripts under supervision
- You understand the role of testing and how it works.
- Aware of the subject matter and technologies and has an understanding of what it involves/how to use them.
- You’re aware of digital technology and has an understanding of what it involves and its impact.
- You have an awareness of Agile methodologies and their practical application
- You have an open-minded approach and understands why iteration is important (and can do it quickly)
- You have a positive approach, and you work well as part of an innovative team, helping to motivate others to be at their best
