We are looking for a talented Infrastructure Engineer to work with us on a once-in-a-generation digital transformation of these services.
You’ll join DWP Digital’s growing community of digital experts. Using fresh ideas and leading edge technologies – and putting the user at the centre of everything we do – we create innovative, scalable digital solutions that make a difference to the lives of our 22 million users and to our amazing DWP colleagues.
DWP provides critical services to UK citizens, often at key times in their lives, through a mixture of on-premise hosting, IaaS and DBaaS . You’ll help our team of experts to make digital services quicker, simpler and more efficient for the millions of people that use them.

You will work as part of brilliant, supportive team. But you’ll have lots of personal responsibility and autonomy.
You will be the primary contact for critical services that directly affect the daily lives of UK citizens. This includes really big tickets like our Central Payments system, which makes £100bn of payments every year, or our VME-R environment which hosts systems such as Disability Living Allowance, Pensions and War Pensions.
You know how to maintain and assure operational stability of infrastructure solutions. Here you’ll be in a role where you can affect change and excellence in the on-going robustness and resilience of products and service which are important to so many people.
What skills, knowledge and experience will you need?
- Oracle Data Platforms
- Data Platform – Design and Build
- Data Centre Security, including security products and countermeasure techniques e.g. Firewalls, Server hardening
