The rehabilitation journey of a prison leaver is critical for reducing reoffending and promoting societal reintegration. How can we make rehabilitation more individualised, empowering people on probation to take ownership of their journey, and improve the effectiveness of joined up Government services?
We aim to develop joint scalable, data-driven solutions that improve rehabilitation outcomes and reduce reoffending. We are seeking innovative solutions for:
- Empowering People on Probation through Personalised Support: How can we provide individuals on probation with proactive, personalised support, addressing their specific needs and goals. How can we support individuals to understand the processes and requirements ahead of probation to remove barriers, such as having official photo identification?
- Creating a Seamless Journey with Interoperable Services: How can we provide a service that seamlessly communicates and coordinates between probation services, Job Centre plus services including finding a job and receiving training, housing providers, employment agencies, and healthcare services? What technologies or approaches can we use to facilitate better communication and collaboration between probation officers and DWP specialists, such as Work Coaches?
Why This Matters:
High reoffending rates, overburdened probation staff, and low employment for ex-offenders demand a new approach to rehabilitation.
End Users:
- Probation officers
- Offenders
- DWP Specialists e.g. Work Coaches
We will provide access to known user and service insights, constraints, and innovation and scalability resources during the event.
