Industrial placements at DWP Digital
Industrial placements are 12-month fixed term jobs at an entry-level grade. They’re designed for undergraduates studying an IT, computer science, science, engineering or mathematics degree to gain work experience in government digital roles.
They give you a year out from your studies, while earning a proper salary and applying your learning to projects with real impact. And your placement can earn you a permanent position with us at a higher grade, with further opportunities for career progression.
You can also do a shorter 45-day industrial placement as part of your T-Level studies. This is an unpaid placement but will give you invaluable experience.
You’ll develop your technical skills and gain a working knowledge of delivering government products and services. You’ll also have access to plenty of learning and development, with lots of support from your team, and regular mentoring from our experts.
It’s a great way to start your career in digital, gaining meaningful work experience and building on your academic foundations.
