We’re looking for talented, ambitious engineers with skills and experience working with Microsoft Office Applications to join DWP’s Digital Workplace project and become a key part of one of the UK’s biggest and most high-profile digital transformation programmes.

What is Digital Workplace?

It’s big. Over the last two years diverse DWP Digital teams have established Digital Workplace, an agile and multi-disciplinary service that supports over 84,000 employees, using more than 150 distributed cloud applications, operating out of more than 800 UK sites, and powering digital products and services used by more than 20 million people across the UK.

It’s evolving. So far we’ve moved all of our systems to hybrid hosting, removing the constraints of previous outsourced IT contracts, modernising our legacy infrastructure and stabilising performance.

It’s empowering our people and customers through technology. We’re improving communication and collaboration with a mix of new hardware including mini-PCs, Surface Pro laptops and a growing mobile phone network. About your role

As an Infrastructure Engineer at DWP Digital, you will deal with the day to day management, design and development of infrastructure products related to our Digital Workplace transformation.

You will be responsible for the operational stability of the infrastructure solutions, and be in a position to affect change in the on-going robustness and resilience of products used by thousands of colleagues that will impact millions of people who access DWP services.

You’ll work closely with senior engineers as we help you grow your skills and experience, and you’ll collaborate across multiple-disciplines, working with developers, researchers, analysts, architects and loads more as part of a project team where we care about ideas and ability over job title and hierarchy.

Please note that successful candidates will need undertake SC clearance, which is a requirement for this job.

What are we looking for?

• Knowledge of Microsoft Technologies; Windows 10, Office 365 Pro Plus and SCCM, Group Policies, Office 365 and PowerShell.
• Supporting an Office 365 Pro Plus deployment with a key focus on Evergreen.
• Integration testing of Office Pro Plus and Line of Business Applications.
• Proven skills of writing detailed documentation to support the delivery of solutions.
