You and your role

The role of Infrastructure Engineer Skype for Business is to engineer support and maintenance of infrastructure solutions and services improve system health and reliability. You’ll support products and services that millions of people across the UK rely on. It’s critical we get it right.

Working in a team of infrastructure specialist engineers you’ll ensure services are delivered and used as required. Our infrastructure engineering team also work with and supports third parties to provide infrastructure services.

As a third line Infrastructure Engineer you will deal with the day to day design, management and maintenance of infrastructure products. You will be responsible for the operational stability of infrastructure solutions, actively support the on-going robustness and resilience of those products. You’ll have plenty of variety too, providing third line incident/problem resolutions and engineering capability for the design, build and operation of infrastructure services and solutions across DWP’s huge and diverse estate.

What skills, knowledge and experience are we looking for?

• You have experience of the design, build, and operate of Skype for Business Client and Skype for Business Server, SfB Online (O365), SfB 2016 client in relation to a Unified Communications environment.
• You’re experienced in the design, deployment and operations of Office and Office 365 mobile applications for Skype for Business.
• You understand information security and the types of security controls that can be used to mitigate security threats within solutions and services.
• You can effectively communicate at different levels, across level 2 and level 3 technical teams, business users, architecture and 3rd party suppliers and end users.
• You have strong stakeholder management skillsets, with ability to communicate effectively across all organisational levels.
• You have significant experience of Unified Communications – Skype for Business and Office 365.
