Job description

IT Operations Controller, BPDTS Ltd : Up to £43,689 plus 15% Shift Allowance

Want to be part of something really big? If you’re creative and curious to learn, want to be empowered to make decisions and challenge the norm, and want to bring BIG ideas to a MASSIVE digital challenge then you’ll love it here. And we’d love to hear from you.

We are looking for an IT Operations Controller to work with us on one of the biggest transformation programmes in Europe, providing services that have far-reaching and pivotal roles in citizens’ lives.

In BPDTS Ltd you will be part of an organisation responsible for the delivery of digital platforms and services, real-time analytics and flexible infrastructure, providing secure and resilient services to DWP. Joining an innovative, supportive, and fast growing community of skilled digital professionals you will work in agile and creative ways to improve public services, with the power to make a difference to the lives of 22 million UK citizens.

About you

As an IT Operations Analyst you will provide hands-on support as part of a small shift team where you will use your experience to deliver a robust and industry best of class IT operational monitoring service.

You will have the crucial role of proactively detecting and responding to notifications and overseeing checks to ensure that systems and services are performing optimally, applying technical knowledge to understand end to end impacts, escalating any issues to resolution.

You are someone who can plan, prioritise, monitor and allocate workload to the Operations analysts within team and who can oversee and support the performance and development of capability of team members.

What are we looking for?

Where will you work?

You’ll join our team in Newcastle, where we’re really close to Longbenton Metro station. It’s a great site with loads of cool facilities, like our gym, our indoor sports court, our great restaurants, cafes and snack bars and loads more. It’s a really collaborative, friendly place where we host regular events and meet ups.

We provide the latest tech and tooling and foster a collaborative culture to help our agile, multidisciplinary teams think big and try new things. You will work alongside people who care passionately about public service, making a difference and delivering for our customers.

We believe in giving you a working experience that meets your needs and expectations and that means a focus on work-life balance, flexible hours, team-based working and the ability to work from multiple locations.

We are an equal opportunity employer and we welcome applications regardless of age, disability, gender, race or sexuality.

What is our offer?

We also offer much more as part of a flexible benefits package – including a cycle to work scheme and lots of family friendly perks – which can be tailored to your lifestyle.

The IT Operations Analyst will be required to work nights as part of a small shift team covering 6 nights a week (Sun to Fri), on a standard 37.5-hour week, 7.5 hours per shift.
