We are looking for an IT Operations Controller to work with us on one of the biggest transformation programmes in Europe, providing services that have far-reaching and pivotal roles in citizens’ lives.
In BPDTS Ltd you will be part of an organisation responsible for the delivery of digital platforms and services, real-time analytics and flexible infrastructure, providing secure and resilient services to DWP. As an IT Operations Analyst you will provide hands-on support as part of a small shift team where you will use your experience to deliver a robust and industry best of class IT operational monitoring service.
You will have the crucial role of proactively detecting and responding to notifications and overseeing checks to ensure that systems and services are performing optimally, applying technical knowledge to understand end to end impacts, escalating any issues to resolution.
You are someone who can plan, prioritise, monitor and allocate workload to the Operations analysts within team and who can oversee and support the performance and development of capability of team members.
What are we looking for?
- Experience/knowledge of Oracle E-Business.
- Knowledge of Unix/Linux, Data Queries (via SQL), Autosys.
- Previous knowledge and background working in live operations areas, experience working within a first line or second line monitoring or application support team.
- Working knowledge of incident, problem and change processes.
- Broad knowledge of technologies and solutions with demonstrable experience and technical capability across application support.
- Delivering a consistently high standard of customer service to internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to understand technical issues, prioritise accordingly and coordinate through to resolution with 2/3rd line technical SMEs.

The IT Operations Analyst will be required to work nights as part of a small shift team covering 6 nights a week (Sun to Fri), on a standard 37.5-hour week, 7.5 hours per shift.
