DWP. Digital with Purpose.

DWP is the UK’s largest government department. We deliver products, services, support and payments worth over £150bn to over 20 million people at key times in their lives.

DWP Digital offers uniquely challenging and fulfilling careers for people interested in using their skills to make a genuine difference to society.

We’re part of the UK’s biggest government department, and along with 86,000 colleagues, we support more than 20 million people every day to help them to find work and save for their future.

It’s never been more important that our services are accessible to the people who need them. Few other organisations globally provide the same opportunity to apply next-generation digital technology on a massive scale to issues which touch the lives of so many.

Duties. Work. Projects.

You’ll join our ground-breaking Identity & Trust Team, where you will be responsible for a range of service management activities across ID&T applications and platforms

You’ll ensure service availability and value and quality as well as performance and process maturity across this landscape.

Identity and authentication are critical to how we interact with the world online. We need to make it as easy as possible for everyone, including the most vulnerable people, to prove who they are so they can access the support and services they need.

Identity and Trust is responsible for the department’s identity strategy and the associated digital services. We’re driving industry-leading approaches, focusing on reusable and shareable policies and technologies, that will enable common citizen and department user journeys that are both responsive and personalised.

You’ll work on everything you’d associate with an ITSM role – reporting, incident management, problem management, service level agreement (SLA) and operational level agreement (OLA) management – but you’ll do it on an enormous scale, in a unique context and driven by an extraordinary purpose.

What skills and experience are we looking for?

We need you to demonstrate the following in your application:

Problem Management: You ensure that the right actions are taken to investigate, resolve and anticipate problems by coordinating the efforts of the team to investigate problems, implement solutions and take preventative measures
Operational Management: You can design operational processes for the running and maintenance of products or services throughout its life-cycle.
Managing A Quality Service: You demonstrate positive customer service by understanding the complexity and diversity of customer needs, and deliver a high quality, efficient and cost effective service by picking from broad range of delivery methods.
Changing and Improving: You work with others to identify areas for improvement and simplify processes to use fewer resources, making best use of technology where possible.
Making Effective Decisions: You draw reasonable conclusions from a wide range of complex and sometimes incomplete evidence. You make decisions confidently even when details are unclear or if they prove to be unpopular.
• You have evidence and experience of using ITIL Service Management Frameworks
