As the Lead Data Scientist, embedded in the Universal Credit Programme you will lead a cultural shift in data, winning hearts and minds and ultimately be responsible for leading a high performing function that delivers proactive, innovative and insightful data products within agile principles that tangibly improve the outcomes for millions of citizens across the country.

In addition, you will play a prominent leadership role across the Data & Analytics practice driving a culture of continuous improvement and evidence based decision making.

Essential Technical Skills

Ideally you will have naturally progressed from a Data Scientist or through another analytical route like Maths or Statistics into a Senior/Leadership role. You’ll be familiar with a tech environment using R Python Machine Learning- natural language processing and also more advanced data analytics
You will have led the customer insight function either in public or private sector and have the following skill set:

• Data Analysis & Synthesis
• Organisation Capability Development
• Data Visualisation
• Developing Data Science Products
• Design, Write and Iterate Code
• Project Management
• Data Governance
• Integration
