DWP are looking for Operations Technical Service Managers to work with us on in a once-in-a-generation digital transformation. This is an exciting time to join DWP Digital. The Operations Technical Service Manager role sits right at the heart of that transformation.

This role presents an exciting opportunity to work with Digital leaders within the department and across government as part of the 17,000 strong DDaT profession. You and your role

As Operations Technical Service Manager you will manage the Major Incident Management discipline following a service failure, restoring live service as quickly and safely as possible.

You will identify problems and undertake root cause analysis to investigate and fix the underlying cause in order to restore and manage services and live product support effectively.

You will participate in end-to-end testing of disaster recovery and service continuity plans to optimise service and live product support.

You will monitor the effectiveness of the appropriate Service Management processes (e.g. Major Incident, Change Management, Problem Management) analysing metrics, reporting on performance design, and making recommendations for improvement and reduction to service downtime.

What skills, knowledge and experience are we looking for?

The right person for this role will have a working knowledge of the main IT infrastructure and experience of maintaining a large and complex IT estate and the associated risks.

You will have service management framework experience in the Service Operations function (Particularly Event, Incident, Problem, Change, Release, Capacity, ITSCM and CSI).

You have experience working with technical capabilities and multiple stakeholders as part of the Major Incident discipline, restoring service as quickly and safely as possible, with minimal business impact and with timely and relevant communications.

You can demonstrate a degree of relationship management with customers, suppliers and staff at all levels requires input throughout the IT change lifecycle.
