We’re looking for 3 talented Oracle Application Engineers to join DWP’s Digital Delivery for Shared Platforms (DDSP) project and become a key part of one of the UK’s biggest and most high-profile digital transformation programmes, a once-in-a-generation tech-driven reform of government products and services.
What is DDSP?
Digital Delivery for Shared Platforms evolves and transforms some of the most critical systems in DWP, unleashing the potential of Digital services to reduce overheads, cost and friction for citizen and agent-facing services.
Our Integration Technologies, Payment Services and Citizen Information teams work together to enable the successful delivery of services across DWP.
You’ll join our brilliant DDSP Payments Services team.
Payments are core to the services we provide; they are critical to helping people live better lives. We are the biggest payer in the UK serving some 22m people, who collectively receive a total of £170b annually, delivered on time and in the best form for them.
Tech innovation, open banking and changing customer needs mean payments are being transformed at pace in DWP and externally. We are thinking radically about how we deliver and evolve payment services and how ambitious we need to be to meet the future needs of the Department, our citizens, Government and industry. We need Payment Services need to be efficient, modern, fast, scalable, flexible and innovative, available 24/7. We need you to help us get there.
You and your role
As an Oracle Application Engineer will provide departmental technical ability to staff through applications. They will be responsible for the full lifecycle of applications including their integration with the wider technology infrastructure and have a key input into the strategic direction and the products that can be used to achieve that vision.
The Central Payments System (CPS) manages over millions of benefit transactions including pensions, Universal Credit and Job Seekers Allowance helping millions of vulnerable people.
You’ll will drive change and be responsible for qualifying and making change requests, reporting and increasing volumes in driving faster and more efficient payments.
We are currently upgrading from Oracle Release 11 to Release 12 which is part of our huge process improvement in end customer engagement and a move into a Waterfall/Agile environment

What are we looking for?
You will be an Oracle e-Business Functional Consultant with experience at e-Business suite version 12.2.x.
You’ll have “hands on “experience in configuration of e-Business suite Financial modules, specifically General Ledger,( GM) Accounts Payable ( AP)and Cash Management ( CM) and of the following Oracle tools :
• Oracle RDBMS
• Oracle E-Business Suite Technical Development
• Oracle Forms
• Oracle Reports
• Data-load Tools
Desirable skills & experience…these would be a bonus but not essential..
• Oracle e-Business suite implementations and upgrade from 11.5.10 to R12.2.x
• Database Management.
• PL/SQL
• SQL Development
• Config Snapshot
• Oracle Workflow Builder
• Oracle iSetup
