We are looking for a talented Senior Infrastructure Engineer with skills and experience of Enterprise Tooling to work with us on a once-in-a-generation digital transformation of these services.

Delivery. Work. Projects

You’ll work on our Tech Services team initially. The TS team is made up of 1,500 colleagues working collaboratively across 10 portfolio-led teams in a fast-moving environment. Our teams deliver an end-to-end suite of digital products and services that support DWP colleagues and citizens in an ever-evolving technology landscape. It’s backbone of everything that DWP Digtal does.

You will be joining a team committed to designing, developing, deploying and supporting core IT services that underpin the DWP’s citizen facing systems.

These services provide the monitoring necessary to know how healthy the network, server or application is through largescale dashboards whilst ensuring that DWP are accurately capturing Software Asset information. In addition, as a Senior Engineer within the team you will be an escalation point for major incidents within the production environment.

You will be working primarily across AWS and Azure but will be providing integrations with existing core on premise enterprise tooling. This will require a good knowledge of networking within AWS and Azure including the use of intra-instance transits and DNS services.


What skills, knowledge and experience will you need to show us in your application?

• Experience of design and deployment of Cloud instances, applications and network capabilities using IaaS or IAC as best suited within Public Cloud offerings.
• Experience of integration of Cloud instances and applications either internally or with external on premise services.
• Experience of leading the troubleshooting and resolution of complex issue across multiple enterprise tooling domains.
• Communicates effectively at different levels, across support and engineering, business users, architecture and suppliers.
• Demonstrate Significant Experience and successful track record of design, engineer and operate of Enterprise tooling.
• Demonstrate Significant Experience with ITIL Framework.

These skills are desirable – if you don’t have them now, you’ll have chance to build them in this role:
• ITIL Service Management qualifications or equivalent experience
• Experience in configuring IT infrastructure monitoring tools.
• Event Management.
• Knowledge of public cloud infrastructure.
• Data Centre Infrastructure Management.
• Discovery Tooling.
• Automated Patching.
• Software Asset Management.
• Data Analytics.
