We’re looking for a talented Senior Technical Specialist Architect (Domain) – Data to join our growing community of experts and become a key part of one of the biggest and highest-profile digital transformation programmes in the world.

You and your role
In this role you will help with the production and maintenance of Data sub-domain’s policies, principles, standards, specific patterns, models and blueprints.

You will ensure technology radars in your area, plus solution patterns provided are effective, robust and cost effective. And you’ll provide clear guidance to the Technical Architects on your team at all times.

You will act as the bridge between the Lead Domain Architect and other architects to assure the integrity and dependency across roadmaps. You communicate clearly and you can share complex technical ideas in a clear, informative and accessible way.

You will assess and constantly evaluate potential new and useful domain specific technologies in the tools, hardware and software space whilst contributing to the Technical Design Authority by providing domain specific support.

What are we looking for?
For this role we welcome applications from those with practical experience of AT LEAST ONE of the following ‘specialisms’ with desirable practical skills / knowledge across the others:

• Conceptual, logical and physical data modelling and design

• Data warehousing, business intelligence (BI) and analytics technologies, design patterns, tools and best practice

• Database design/ modelling technologies, design patterns, tools and best practice (including: Oracle RDBMS/ IBM DB2/ Microsoft SQL Server)

• NoSQL and Open Source database and data warehouse design/modelling, technologies, design patterns, tools and best practice (including: Apache Hive, Apache Hadoop, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Couchbase, Cassandra, Amazon DynamoDB, Neo4J)

• Analytics and Big Data design/modelling, technologies, design patterns, tools and best practice (including: Talend Data Fabric/ Denodo/ Oracle Big Data/ IBM InfoSphere/ Paxata Adaptive Information Platform/ Hortonworks Data Platform/ SAP HANA & Data Hub)

• Mainframe data and database design/modelling, technologies, design patterns, tools and best practice (including: VME IDMS / CA-Datacom)
